My name is Fanie Schoeman from Cape Town Somerset West. I am 38 years old and one of the greatest Elvis fans ever. I literary eat, sleep, think and talk Elvis.
When I was 12 years of age I discovered my love for music. While my friends of the same age started listening to pop music, I discovered Rock & Roll with the King of all, Elvis Presley. At that stage I felt like I was the only one that could hear and see real music and talent. Over the years I've studied his moves by playing his performance videos, slow motion to copy each move; legs, hands, shoulder movements and facial expressions. I wanted to look like him, talk like him and walk like him - The King.
I started performing mostly at school concerts and small charity functions. One day a friend encouraged me to enter a karaoke competition. I got to the final round of the competition and won the second prize. I entered the National Elvis competition at Carnival City in 2003 which opened many doors for me as I was chosen as one of the best three Elvis Impersonators in the national competition and after that people took notice of my future performances and started booking me for private parties, events and shows. I have performed at many functions and shows over the past couple of years. My favorite Elvis periods are the 50's, and 60's, the Elvis Rock and Roll area and I enjoy impersonating Elvis with the Pink or Golden outfit. My Elvis tribute shows are broken up in three stages of his life and music for example; Elvis in the 50's, 60's and 70's.
My specialty, however, is to perform the role of the young, sexy Rock & Roll Elvis in the 50's and 60's. I will be an Elvis fan forever and it is a great honor to share his music with the world and touch peoples' lives in the same way he did. Elvis you are indeed well and alive!!!
